We’ve signed a striker – in your face Coventry!

Hoorah, we’ve finally beaten Coventry City to a striker. Admittedly it’s our academy scholar Kris Renton, but he’s a striker none-the-less.

By my workings Glenn Roeder now has three, count them, three strikers to choose from for tonight’s friendly against Gorleston. Get in there!

  1. Hehehehe! We’d already got already got six before we signed freddy, and we’re about to get Clinton Morrison too, frankly… you can keep Rents. It comes to something when all you have to boast about is not being pipped to a striker who was already on your books!!!

(that doesn’t mean I don’t think Renton is a decent player, and hopefully he can mature into a decent player for you… come on Roeder, get a squad together! really!)

  2. Marcus Bent, Gary O’Connor, James McFadden, Kevin Phillips, and Cameron Jerome all have Premiership experience for Birmingham. The rookie striker Sone Aluko who’s just 19 has already played in the Scottish Premiership and the Champions League. Scoring a terrific goal against Bayern Munich for Aberdeen. Gary McSheffery on the left, Lee Carsley formerly of Everton in the middle, Larsson big things are expected.

Birmingham have the top scorers of the Championship four years running: Bent, McSheffery, Jerome and Phillips.

  5. I think you’ll find Sone Aluko played in the UEFA cup for Aberdeen, not Champion’s League. Remind me, how many goals did he manage in an entire season in Scotchland? Cameron Jerome’s only Prem experience is relegation after not making the grade – he did all right for Colchester, so you should be all right in League One next season!

  6. Mcsheffrey was not good last season i agree but at championship level he had 17 goals and 19 goals the last two seasons he played, i am sure he will score more than your 2 first team strikers and your kid. Add to his goals the goals of mcfadden, bent, o’conner, phillips, jerome (who was top scorer in the championship with over 20 goals when only 19) and larsson and i am sure we will finish a hell of a lot higher than your lot and even if we go up and come straight back down again at least we have spent 5 of the lasty 7 seasons in the top division compared to your 1
