New investment on the way?

The Pink’un have got everyone all of a flutter since this appeared at around lunchtime today:

The EDP will tomorrow (Monday) exclusively reveal sensational news about Norwich City Football Club.

In a story that will shock fans and intrigue rivals, the paper will lift the lid on potential investment which could equip the Canaries for a genuine challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

Don’t forget to buy a copy of tomorrow’s paper to read the story everybody will be talking about.

One website seems particularly displeased, as only this week they asked if new investment had been found. They also had this to say:

I hope that one City web site may like to apologise to us here at carrowroad for the ridicule they gave us, instead of trying to be the self appointed City sites critic.

I’m assuming they’re talking about this shiny blog, the NCFC on the Web Awards that I kicked off and more specifically, this post.

If so, using the word “cough” was probably a little mischievous but I don’t really think it can be classed as ridicule, do you?

As for being the self-appointed City site’s critic, well, if thinking it might be fun to give people a chance to vote on their favourite sites make me that then I’m guilty as charged.

The beauty of the web is that everyone who uses it is automatically a critic. If you like a particular site you’ll go back there again. If you don’t, you make your choice and you don’t. Pretty simple really.

But anyway, if this “new investment” turns out to be eerily similar to that predicted by one City website (which I’ve not been able to find unfortunately – send me a link and I’ll take a look), I’ll gladly hold my hands up and apologise.

Of course it could be that they didn’t mean this site at all, in which case I owe one City website an apology anyway. 🙂

UPDATE: Ok so it turns out it wasn’t aimed at me. As you were. 🙂

  1. Perhaps carrowroad.net should issue an apology for misleading fans for their ‘artists impression’ of the new shirt. Or are they the only ones entitled to an opinion and nobody else?

  2. no

we weren’t refering to you in the article, we treated the away kit mock up as a bit of fun, besides who designed wasn’t that far out in colour.

I am not bothered by awards, I have enough to worry other than that.

  3. Personally, I think CarrowRoad.net is well known for it’s unreliable sources, poor articles and closed forum that no one is allowed access to except for a chosen few.

It deserves the contempt it receives from the online NCFC community.
