Memorable Football Kits: Sheffield Wednesday 1992-1993

Sheffield Wednesday 1992-1993

The kits I stick in this section are usually pretty manky, but I actually really liked this Wednesday away kit from the early-nineties.

It was only worn for one season as Wednesday marched to both domestic cup-finals – only to lose to Arsenal in each occasion.

After this season they switched to Puma, but it just wasn’t the same.

  1. Whether you like the shirt or not, the fact that Wednesday lost both cup finals ensured that City were awarded a place in the 1993/94 UEFA Cup. A big thank you to Andy Linighan and Chris Woods, both ex Canaries, for making it happen – Linighan by heading home the vital goal and Woods for letting it in! MLS
