First annual “NCFC on the Web” Awards

These days most people get their daily football fix on t’internet, and there are more NCFC-related websites around than ever before (like this one, funnily enough).

Like many people there are certain sites that I tend to go back to time and time again; those sites that where you actually learn something new, or at least understand a new perspective. There are also other sites that you tend to avoid at all costs (hopefully not like this one, funnily enough).

With that in mind I thought it might be fun to recognize some of these great men and women that spend countless hours each week updating the world with the goings on in and around our favourite football club, and so I am pleased to announce the first annual “NCFC on the Web” awards.

I’ve come up with seven categories that sites can be nominated for:

Best news service. Which site has the best news?

Best site for analysis. Including rumours etc.

Best match previews/reports. Most websites feature some sort of match report, but that doesn’t mean it’s any good.

Best column. “Nelson’s” does not count. I’m thinking things like “The Man” on the Pink’un site, that sort of thing.

Overall best NCFC website. Fairly self-explanatory. Which NCFC website do you think is your favourite overall?

Best site design. Who’s the prettiest? The easiest to use?

Best message board. There’s plenty of them, but which one is the best?

As usual there are a few rules. This site is exempt for example; I think it’s known in the trade as a conflict of interests. Actually I think that’s probably the only “rule”. Any NCFC site can be nominated – be it a professional setup like the official site, all the way down to the one-man-band cowboy blog. If you like it, nominate it.

That’s pretty much it. You can send your nominations to the usual email address (canaryblog at googlemail dot com). I’ll add them to the list I’ve already got, whittle them down to no more than half a dozen or so per category and will announce the full list of nominees in a couple of weeks – and then voting can begin.

Get nominating. 🙂
