Canary Watch: Dean Ashton named in the England squad, but there’s still no place for Greeno

Former City striker Dean Ashton has been included in Fabio Capello’s 31 man provisional squad for the friendlies against USA at Wembley on 28th May and the trip to Trinidad and Tobago on June 1st.

Ashton has hit five goals in his eight matches for West Ham.

Robert Green backed up his claim of being England’s number six by again missing out on the squad. He looks to now be behind David James, Joe Hart, Chris Kirkland, Paul Robinson and Scott Carson in the pecking order.
