Canary Classics: Millwall 2 Norwich City 3, 22nd January 1989

Welcome to another new feature on City ‘Til I Die, Canary Classics.

We’ll be looking at classic Norwich City games from over the years, starting with a blinder against Millwall in 1989.

The game was the first ever to be televised live from the Den, but goals from Butterworth and Bowen in the first 10 minutes saw the Canaries race into a 2-0 lead before Cascarino and Carter brought the Lions level before the break.

In the second half a string of fine saves from Bryan Gunn kept the Yellows in the game, before a late stunner from Robert Fleck secured maximum points for the visitors.
