Murray Next?

Ian MurrayIan Murray looks likely to be the next to leave the club after reports in today`s Scotsman linked the 26 year old with a move to Hibernian.

The former Hibs captain left Easter Road to join Rangers in 2005, but was released at the end of last season whereupon Peter Grant brought him to Carrow Road as part of his ill-fated Scottish revolution.

  1. Interesting piece.

Take it the Canaries fans are not that keen on Ian Murray? A possible return to Hibs is quite controversial amongst the fans due to one or two remarks he made upon leaving for Rangers. There was also an infamous incident when the Hibs followers were giving him ‘the bird’ at Ibrox and he replied with the finger! Many find this hard to forgive.

I quite like Murray – particularly as a centre back only, but his career (and health) seems to be worryingly on the wane. What do the Canaries fans think of him?

  2. He hasn’t really done anything, which I guess is the problem. He doesn’t seem big enough or strong enough for the Championship either.

It doesn’t help that he was played at left back for a couple of games, where he was quite frankly awful.

His health does seem to be a problem. He was out ill for us for a little while as well.

  3. I agree about him at left back – he just doesn’t cut it for me in that position. Not bad in midfield but not particularly creative, his best position is in central defense I think.

I think he has a degenerative arthritic complaint of some sort, which has to put a question mark over his long-term career.

Best of luck to the Canaries anyway, mate.
