Arsenal are said to be considering re-signing former great Terry Henry on loan from the New York Red Bulls.
Le Tel doesn’t need to be back in the States until March, so if the Gunners were to get him for a couple of months he’d be available for seven Premier League games, some FA Cup ties and the first leg of their Champions League last-16 game against Meeeelan.
Henry was a brilliant player for Arsenal, and the fact that they’ve just unveiled a statue in his honour is testament to the impact he had on the club, but he’s now 34-years-old, and a lot has changed in the four years since he left to join Barcelona.
History is littered with players, managers etc who went back to the site of previous glories, and more often than not they end up tarnishing the reputation they had worked so hard to build.
In fact I don’t think I can think of too many times when going back has ended well. If you can, please let me know.
