Burnley have £400k bid for Paterson rejected by Scunthorpe. Let battle commence.

20 05 2008

According to today’s Daily Star (that most trusted of all sources), Scunthorpe have rejected a bid of £400,000 from Burnley for striker Martin Paterson (he of potential “new heroes” fame).

Given that we supposedly had a £750,000 bid rejected in the January transfer window that’s hardly surprising, but I should think a similar bid now may be enough to twist their arm – especially since the Iron have been relegated to League One.

I know they don’t call this the “silly season” for nothing, but you’ve got to be honest – it’s all pretty interesting isn’t it?

Alright QPR, enough’s enough!

About 10 days ago I posted a little shopping list of 10 players I wouldn’t be too upset to see arrive at Carrow Road in the close season, and then three days later they QPR go and snap up Peter Ramage.

Then imagine if you will my dismay when I read through the BBC Gossip page yesterday to see this little nugget of information:

QPR want to sign West Brom striker Kevin Phillips and Wolves forward Freddy Eastwood. (Daily Mirror)

Now’s the time to exclusively reveal to the world my real list of 10 players I wouldn’t be too upset to see arrive at Carrow Road…

  1. Titus Bramble (Wigan Athletic).
  2. Peter Thorne (Bradford City).
  3. Andy Hughes (Leeds United).
  4. Julien Brellier (FC Sion).
  5. Ryan Jarvis (released).
  6. Rossi Jarvis (released).
  7. Pablo Counago (Ipswich Town).
  8. Roy Race (Melchester Rovers)
  9. Dougall MacDougall (erm, someone like Ross County)
  10. Anyone from Derby County.

That’ll fool ‘em…
