Manchester United star to have his life story told in a movie

18 05 2008

I almost forgot that I’d seen this story in the Mirror on Friday. Apparently Manchester United’s Carlos Tevez is having his life story turned into a movie.

Once this game is over (Wednesday’s Champions League Final), I will be going back to Argentina. In June a film about my life will be started and that will be a thrilling project to be involved in.

No word yet on who will be playing Tevez in the epic and I’m not going to speculate, but the mind boggles.

He’s only 24, has he really been through that much that his life story should be told now? Still, if Wayne Rooney can have an autobiography…

Norwich City 2007/08: The season in numbers

18 05 2008

I love Football365. Inspired by their Season in Numbers feature, I decided to do my own Norwich City-related one:

0 – Weeks spent in the play-off positions.

1 – Goal scored by Chris Brown in a year at Carrow Road.

2 – Red cards picked up by Darel Russell.

3 – Goals scored against Ipswich.

4 – Points picked up by Ipswich against us.

5 – Goals scored by Chris Brown since joining Preston North End.

6 – Times the Carrow Road witnessed a draw. The fifth lowest in the Championship.

7 – Assists by Darren Huckerby in his final season in the yellow and green.

8 – Did you know that was how many points we had before Glenn Roeder took over? We really should make more of that.

9 – Times we had to witness Julien Brellier in a Norwich City starting XI.

10 – Clean sheets kept in the league by David Marshall.

11 – Appearances by David Strihavka – inluding eight from the  bench.

12 – League goals scored by Jamie Cureton to make him top scorer.

13 – League and Cup games before Peter Grant did the decent thing.

14 – Defeats in the league away from home – the joing worst in the Championship with Barnsley, Coventry and Scunthorpe.

15 – Total league wins (10 at Carrow Road, 5 away from home).

17th – Position in the final league table.

19th – Position if the league table was based purely on away results. Ipswich would be 22nd and relegated.

21 – Defeats in the league.

22 – Goals conceded at Carrow Road.

34 – Players used in all competitions.

50 – Shots off target by Jamie Cureton.

51 – Appearances by David Marshall.

52 – Shots on target by Jamie Cureton.

4,590 – Minutes played by David Marshall in his 51 appearances.

25,497 – People attended the QPR game on 26th April – the highest attendance at Carrow Road all season.

36,208 – People attended the Sheffield Wednesday game at Hillsborough a week later – the highest attendance in the Championship all season.

If you have your own to add, please let me know…
