How Man Utd show referees respect

26 04 2008

Great day today. I’ll write more on it tomorrow, but I’ve just come across this article on Football365 that I wanted to share with you, called “Leading by Example in the Crusade for Respect”. Great stuff.

QPR Preview

26 04 2008

City’s last home game of the season takes place afternoon against Queens Park Rangers.

Ryan Bertrand and Mo Camara are both rated as 50/50, so if both are unavailable Matty Pattison may be asked to slot into the left back position. Darel Russell is expected to return to the starting line-up alongside Mark Fotheringham. Expect Dion Dublin to start in his last game at Carrow Road alongside Jamie Cureton.

The R’s have doubts over former City target Fitz Hall and Patrick Agyemang, while teenage sensation Angelo Balanta will probably feature again.

A win will guarantee safety for the Canaries, and a draw would also be enough to avoid relegation should Leicester beat Sheffield Wednesday. We would also be pretty much safe if we were to draw and Southampton lose to West Bromwich Albion on Monday night, unless some very unlikely scores occur next week.

A few facts…

League Position: Norwich 18th, QPR 14th.

Last Meeting: 8th October 2007 – QPR 1 Norwich 0. The straw that broke Peter Grant’s back.

Last Meeting at Carrow Road: 30th December 2006 – Norwich 1 QPR 0.

Top Goalscorer: Norwich – Cureton (14), QPR- Buzsaky (10).

Recently Played for Both Clubs: Jamie Cureton, Peter Crouch, Lee Camp, Jason Jarrett.

My Prediction: It’ll be tough, it’ll probably be tense, but when I originally made my predictions I went for a home win, and I cannot even begin to think of anything else. Norwich City 2 QPR 0.

Am I a geek? What sort of question is that??

26 04 2008

I received a fantastic email last night. It said simply:

oi m8, r u sum srt ov geek or sumfin?

I don’t really do “text speak” as I was brought up in an age where the English language still actually had some meaning, but I believe the gentleman was enquiring as to whether or not I am a “geek”.

Let me see. I work for a software development company, my best friend writes code in his spare time for fun, I drink real ale, I list Star Wars and Lord of the Rings among my favourite films, Scrubs and Big Bang Theory are my two favourite television shows, I’ve spent the last week designing a new badge and kit for the Sunday League team I am Secretary for, I write for Vital Norwich and I write a Norwich City Football Club blog which is updated usually several times per day. What do you think?

Of course I’m a bl**dy geek! And what’s more, proud of it. :)

Now, back to the matter in hand – COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!
