Nerves won’t help – lets be ‘avin you!

25 04 2008

I’ve been trying to suppress the nervous I’ve been feeling all week leading up to tomorrow’s game, and I think I’ve finally done it.

Let’s make sure we really get behind the team tomorrow, and make Carrow Road a cauldron of noise from the first minute of the warm-up to the final whistle. OTBC!

Take it away Delia…

Political Correctless Gone Mad 2 The FA 0

25 04 2008

They’ve well and truly done it this time. The bottlers at the Football Association have, in their infinite wisdom, come to two ridiculous decisions:

  1. Should Cardiff win the FA Cup next month, they will represent England in the UEFA Cup next season.
  2. The Welsh National Anthem will be played before the game.

The first point annoys me slightly, but despite the fact that Cardiff agreed to stay in the (much more lucrative) English league with the agreed in place that they would be inelligible to represent England in Europe UEFA would have allowed them in anyway, so I can live with it.

The second point has rather got my goat. Yes, we played the FA Cup Final outside of England for a few years a the highly impressive Millennium Stadium, but why on earth should the Welsh anthem be played before the English Cup Final?

I can’t even summon the energy to rant about it, that’s how p*ssed off I am with this. I despair, I really do.

Hucks to Palace?

25 04 2008

It’s all about Darren Huckerby at the moment, and unsurprisingly so. Today’s Daily Mirror is reporting that he is wanted by Neil Warnock at Crystal Palace.

There are few things worse than imagining him:

  1. Playing for somebody else in England.
  2. Playing for a club against us next season.

If Hucks were to leave us at the end of the season to play in the MLS then you’d have to say good luck to him, but if he turned up at somewhere like Selhurst Park I for one would be absolutely gutted.

It’s hard not to wonder how much of this is his agent (Phil Smith) doing his job and trying to stir up some interest. He was quoted in the Pink’un yesterday as saying:

He was always going to be playing the season through at Norwich and nothing has changed really. Until the die is cast and we know where we’re going to be, it’s a case of waiting to hear from the club about what they have decided.

That (a move to the MLS in America) was put in a while back but until we know what’s happening at Norwich, there’s nothing to say. It’s still too early, but very soon we’ll know.

That screams out to me that the ball is well and truly in the club’s court, and that his man wants to stay. The waiting continues…
