Memorable Kits: Norwich City 1992-1994

3 03 2008

The Bird Poo KitOn the Sun online today they have a run-down of the most hideous football kits of modern memory.

As is usually the case, this little number featured quite high on the list, giving me the idea of another (oh yes my friends, another) new and not 100% original feature: Memorable Kits.

We’re going to look at good kits, bad kits and kits that mean or have meant something to me over the years.

You’ll soon get the idea, and what better place to begin than with the kit that took the Canaries to third in the Premier League and sank the mighty Bayern Munich?

If you’ve read this blog since the earliest days you’ll know I wasn’t always a City fan so I enjoyed watching Norwich in Europe as a neutral, and I can tell you it was fun.

It’s the strip most commonly referred to as the “bird poo kit”, and this is its finest hour…

Norwich City Kitty Update

3 03 2008

The website for the Norwich City kitty was supposedly publicised before it was ready, according to the Kitty’s blog.

I made my feelings clear a few weeks ago on why I’ll be keeping hold of my fiver, and if the site is anything like the thing that is up at the moment when it “officially” goes live, I doubt too many other people will be rushing to hand over their cash either.

Check it out. Isn’t it pretty?

What we have learned this weekend – 1st/2nd March 08

He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy. Newcastle’s saviour has declared publicly what everybody already suspected – that he cannot guarantee survival for the Toon Army. Oh dear.

We’re definitely not ready for the Premier League yet. The 2-1 home defeat by an impressive Blackpool side confirmed (to me at least) that while it’s nice to dream of the play-offs this season and a possible place in the Premier League, next season is much more likely to be our year.

The curse of the Manager of the Month is alive and well. The Championship’s manager of the month Tony Pulis and his Stoke side were sent crashing to earth faster than a Ryan Shawcross hoof with their 3-0 defeat at QPR.
