With all the excitement surrounding Norwich the last week I almost forgot about the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
My adopted country the Ivory Coast have cruised into the semi-finals, where “we” will play defending champions Egypt in a repeat of the 2006 final that Egypt won on penalties.
Come on boys, don’t let me down.
There’s been some controversy over the awarding of the African Player of the Year award. Mali’s Fredi Kanoute won it, becoming the first European-born player to do so, but Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba claims the only reason he didn’t win it was that he refused to travel to Togo to accept the prize.
