I quite enjoyed making the old predictions for the FA Cup matches and anyone that’s known me for a few years will know that I used to run an online Prediction League until it actually started costing me money (which was not the plan I can assure you), so I’ve decided to make a few predictions before each game and just do a general match preview.
This week Preston make the long journey to Carra Rud hoping to continue the form that has seen them only lost once in 2008.
On Tuesday night West Brom went down 2-1 at Deepdale in a game that saw Chris Brown sent off for two bookable offences, meaning the former Carrow Road and YouTube favourite misses out on a return to his former club.
Preston boss Alan Irvine wasn’t quite as busy as Glenn Roeder during the window, but still found time to spend around a £1m on the permanent signings of Brown, Michael Hart from Aberdeen and Oldham defender Neal Trotman.
A few facts…
League Position: Norwich 16th, Preston 22nd.
Last Meeting: 11th August 2007 – Preston 0 Norwich 0.
Last Meeting at Carrow Road: 8th August 2006 – Norwich 2 Preston 0.
Top Goalscorer: Norwich – Cureton (8), Preston – Whaley (5).
Recently Played for Both Clubs: Chris Brown, Jason Jarrett, Dickson Etuhu.
Fascinating Fact: According to Preston’s official site, Deepdale Duck will be making his first away day appearance of the season. Norwich are the first club to accept him this season.
My Prediction: Preston will be riding high on the back of good wins against West Brom in the league and Derby away in the FA Cup. I think the Canaries will have too much for them. 2-0 City.
